Sears Tower

233 South Wacker Drive | Chicago, Illinois 60606

I took my first trip to Chicago in March of 2005.

While there I visited The Sears Tower.  I might let you know that it was one of a life time stops, and it is nice to say that I went inside the Sears Tower.

Before attempting to pay for the tickets we made sure we had plenty of time before closing.  There was a nice man that came out to our vehicle and assured us that we had time.  My mother was told as long as we buy the tickets before a certain time then we would be fine.

We found a parking spot and then went inside to wait in the long line to buy our tickets. 4 adults and one child.  After buying our tickets we then had to do some more waiting.  We were waiting for the next film to play.   After the film.. (not sure how long it was) we then walked to the elevator to take us to the top of Sears tower.  We waited some more.. ( a elevator full of people had to come down before OUR first load could get on...  It took several trips before it was our turn to get on.  Once at the top the view was amazing.  It was a Sunday and the City lights were amazing...

We were at the top for only about 10 mins when we were told to go to the elevator as fast as we could.  We were told many times we had to go to the elevator...  Ok  so then we had to Wait more time....  We had to wait for loads of people to get onto the elevator, go down, unload.... send the elevator back up to the top...  load up some more,, and ect, ect, ect.. Several loads we had to stand there and wait before we could get on.

Before going to the elevator my mother asked the Security guy why we had to go after being told that we had plenty of time, and we had only be up there 10 mins.  He told her that they were having elevator problems and he wanted to go home.  He informed us they called over an hour ago about the problems.

He also told us we should inquire about getting our money back.. He said he just got done telling one other person the same thing.  Once we finally reached the ground floor my mother went to the ticket booth and asked about getting a refund,  The lady was very rude and refused to give our refund, refused to let my mother speak to the manager.  As threaten to call security on her.  The lady looked at the time on the tickets and said we had plenty of time up there.  Ok that might been the case if we didn't have to do so much waiting, plus who is to tell us we have a time limit once up there.  We paid for our tickets.  We should have been able to enjoy being up there.

Before going up there were loads of people getting off the elevator...  Who knows how long they were telling people to leave the area once they got to the top.  Do you know how much money they scammed out of people.

Would I visit The Sears Tower Again?? No.
